Kimberly Copeland (KIMIK)

Kimberly Copeland is a multi-disciplinary artist passionate about creating movement, sound, and visual art. Her artistic journey has led her to showcase her work at esteemed venues, including the Downriver Council for the Arts, the Muskegon Museum of Art, Lawrence Street Gallery in Ferndale, MI, Vamanos in Detroit, MI and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts in Grand Rapids, MI. Her choreography has been performed in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Portland, OR.

 

In addition to her artistic endeavors, she is the Development Director at American Indian Health and Family Services (AIHFS), where she applies her skills in fundraising and community engagement. With a PhD in Education Evaluation and Research and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Wayne State University, she has over a decade of experience in nonprofit administration and fundraising.

 

She is also a member of the Downriver Council for the Arts and (tentative) Detroit Arts Collective.

 

When she's not creating art or working in the nonprofit sector, she enjoys taking dance classes with Lincoln Park Dance Company and DanceAbility Detroit, reading, and playing the accordion. She is dedicated to the pursuit of whimsy, striving to inspire and uplift through her art and community involvement.
